July 2nd COVID-19 Update:


FOR INFO, INDEPENDENT SCHOOL PRINCIPALS – RestartBC Step 3: This week the Premier announced that B.C. will safely move to Step 3 of BC’s Restart Plan on July 1. Step 3 is a transitional phase that allows sectors across the province to adapt gradually to the removal of restrictions. Independent School Principals are reminded that the current K-12 Health & Safety guidance will remain in place over the summer. Further updates on K-12 Health and Safety guidance will be provided in August after an expected update to the BCCDC public health guidance for K-12.

FOR INFO, INDEPENDENT SCHOOL PRINCIPALS – WorkSafeBC Announcement: In alignment with the restart announcement, WorkSafeBC has confirmed that workplaces can start a gradual transition from COVID-19 safety plans to communicable disease prevention plans in Step 3. The Ministry supports existing COVID-19 safety plans remaining in place over the summer to support the continuation of the current K-12 Health & Safety guidance. Schools should be prepared to transition to communicable disease prevention plans in alignment with the implementation of new health and safety guidance in September 2021. More information will be provided in August.


May 21 COVID-19 Update: 

Student vaccinations have arrived. Please take a look at the link to gather information around how and where to get your vaccination. This week’s COVID-19 update includes information on the vaccine rollout for children aged 12+, guidance on the use of portable fans and air conditioning units in workplaces, and a reminder about the K-12 Health Check App.
